EDTC-AX

E-Drive Testing Chamber for Axis Setup with external load machines

The EDTC is the chamber solution that is specifically prepared for an external load machine. The system can be used for dynamic EMC tests of electrical powertrain units in a shielded enclosure. It includes, for instance, braking, driving, direction of rotation (right/left), speed regulation, torque control and a mix out of this range.

The patented solution named EDTC-AX offers superior conditions for radiated emission testing according to CISPR 25 and radiated immunity testing according to ISO 11452 specifically designed for axis setup of electric motors.

The unique feature with Frankonia

Frankonia offers expertise about the correct setup to perform EMC tests unfortunately not covered holistically by CISPR 25, prepares such EMC laboratory and provides the necessary interfaces, like the shielded shaft, proper DUT positioning, grounding and test tables. The load machine can be provided by our customer and thus can follow individual needs for running an EMC lab as a powertrain test bench.

If desired, Frankonia operates as general contractor and involves and cooperates with experts in powertrain testing.

The EDTC-AX is defined for e-motor tests in-axis with two external dynamometer and fixed shielded shafts, using a 90° gear box to reduce metallic materials inside the EMC chamber.

EDTC-AX with electrical load machine

External dynamometer with e.g., 2x 250 kW external load machine (single motor setup), prepared with Frankonia’s shielded shaft system for High-Torque Mode with 3.000 Nm and 3.000 RPM at 2×250 kW.
